I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with running. Meaning: I hate it and I love hating it.

But one of my goals is to get my mile time down to 8 minutes or less. I was down to eight minutes during my senior year of college, after breaking my legs and taking a conditioning running class to get back into it. I think with hard work and determination I can be there again soon.

Tonight I reached my personal best mile time since I started running using the Nike Running App¬†on my iPhone. I’ve put about 60 miles on it so far and my run time tonight was 2.6 miles in 32 minutes, equating to 12 minute miles.

Not great, but a good place to start. Especially since I jogged almost the entire way and I’m used to taking long walking breaks, which really adds to your time. I’m looking to get to 10 minute miles for three mile runs as a baseline and then work up from there. But for now I’m just happy my thighs have stopped rubbing against each other.

I also got in a 1600m swim in 40 minutes today so I’m feeling pretty good about my Monday workout.

Gotta get back on that horse after gorging myself over Thanksgiving…
